Julia Manchester covers national politics as a reporter for the U.S. political news website, The Hill, and its digital video channel, Hill.TV. She frequently appears on U.S. cable networks, such as MSNBC, Fox News, and CBSN to discuss the political news of the day. She also regularly joins foreign outlets such as BBC News, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and CTV News, to offer an American perspective on the news of the day.
She previously served as a digital producer at CNN Politics, where she helped run the outlet’s social media platforms, and wrote breaking news stories.
Education
Julia earned her Master’s degree in political science from American University’s School of Public Affairs in May of 2017, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College in May of 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Television-Radio.
She interned at five different media organizations throughout her undergraduate career, including CBS News’ London Bureau.
She was also actively involved at Ithaca College Television as undergraduate student, serving as an assistant producer, multimedia journalist/reporter, anchor, and News Director.
